T.O. Williams
Blacksburg Rotary Club

T.O. Williams was president of our Rotary club during 2009-2010 year and is a Paul Harris Fellow and a Sustaining Member.

T.O. was born in Portsmouth, VA.  He graduated from Virginia Tech in 1959 in Business Administration. He was in the Corps of Cadets and Air Force ROTC and was the drum major of the Regimental Band.  He was commissioned in the Air Force and served worldwide as a command pilot including two tours of duty in Vietnam.  After retiring as a Colonel from the Air Force in 1986, he returned to Virginia Tech where he worked as Director of University Programs in the Office of Development.  He also served as Chairman and CEO of the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets Alumni, Inc., and is still on the Board of Directors as well as the Vice President for Development on the Virginia Tech German Club Alumni Foundation Board of Directors.   T.O is active in the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church.  He is currently a fundraising development consultant. 

A Rotarian since 1984, he has found Rotary to be a guiding light in his life.  He is dedicated to the motto, “Service above self,” and he demonstrates this in his support for a number of non-profit charities in the area. 

He and his wife, Frances, have one son and two grandchildren.
